The Haunting that Ended the Summer of Love is an immersive paranormal thriller set in 1967 San Francisco on the cusp of Sgt Pepper and the Age of Aquarius. But real world disruptions and an unexpected malevolent force leave a tony suburban enclave on the brink of self-annihilation.
What a time to be alive, says Holly as she and her friends dip their toes in the gloriousness of the summer of love. Besides the Haight Ashbury, there’s also Sisters Pond, a Disney-like haunted idyll that is grand central for friendly apparitions. When Cassandra, an ethereal girl from England arrives, Holly is mesmerized by her spirituality and British rock chic. But after Cassandra ventures to the pond to commune with apparitions, things go haywire, and the town is engulfed in atmospheric disturbances and other odd happenings.
With paranoia and in-fighting taking over residents, and a gnawing fear that an unworldly force from Sisters Pond has foisted itself upon them, the town hunkers down and closes its borders to outsiders. When a stranger steps forward to contain the evil emanating from the pond, will Holly be the only one to help?
